Hello Everyone,
A little about me.
My name is Omair Afzal (right corner). I am currently a student of Food and business management. I chose this course to be my major because of my interest in FOOD and BUSINESS.... you guessed it right...On my blog i will be trying to post all the fun and cool facts about food that people might not be aware of. In fact, this is my first time blogging so I am very excited.
Communication plays a very vital role in my field of study. On one hand, if food is considered to be a necessity of life; the idea of getting the right food out to right people at the right time is very important. Food industry is considered to be the biggest industry in the marketing world. It generates a huge amount of revenue annually. Perhaps, responsible for many jobs generated across the globe. Starting from the production of food until its consumption it involves different stages of communication. It involves setting out the positive vibes about food and making sure that consumers are aware of the products available to them. For Instance, fast food market is very vocal when it comes to catching the attention of their audiences. Fast food marketers target specific groups with advertising. In particular, children, teens, each of these groups are targeted with marketing containing content that appeals to them specifically.

Fascinating fact about food:

Apples, potatoes, and onions all taste the same when eaten with your nose plugged.
As a child we had a science class in which we were blindfolded, had our noses plugged, and given an apple or onion to eat – we were not told which of the two we would be given. Not one person was able to state which was which. This shows the incredibly important part that the nose plays in the sense of taste. The fact that the three items have a similar consistency makes it virtually impossible to tell them apart without the sense of smell. If you try this, I should warn you: once you unblock your nose, you can tell what you have just eaten.
I found the blog below interesting as well.
Jacinta Lin blog is very interesting. I think one reason could be because it also involves communication and her field of interest is same as well.
